Lesson 3
Reduce your Knotting Time by As Much As 50% with the TriCord™ Knotter
|

Figure 1
|
Are you using the old awl and tweezer method for knotting your strands? You may want
to try a Tri-Cord™ Knotter(found here).
Once mastered, it can save you a lot of time and will give
you professional and consistent results.
|

Figure 2
|
Attach the clasp (found here
) you would like to use and handknot the first 3 beads. With the clasp end in your
right hand, make a loop around the middle and index fingers of your left hand with
your thread. (figure 1) Lead the clasp end through the loop as shown. (figure 2)
|

Figure 3
|
Turn your left hand toward you and pick up the thread with the awl tip on the Tri-Cord
Knotter. Slide your fingers out of the loop and onto the awl. Guide the knot down
snugly against the bead. Hold the strand in place with your index finger against the
awl. (figure 3)
|

Figure 4
|
Slide the lead cord into the V-groove and , with gentle pressure on the lead string,
move the knot up the awl to tighten. (figure 4)
Push up with your thumb while applying gentle pressure to the lead string to release
the knot. Slide the next bead against knot and repeat these steps until your strand
is complete. It takes a little practice and patience to get accustomed to this, but
once you master it, you’ll see your speed increase.
