Precious Metal Scrap Recycling
 Thunderbird Supply Company accepts sorted
sterling silver (including filings) and sorted gold-filled scrap for trade. Metals should be separated by type of metal, filings, soldered scrap and
unsoldered scrap. Sorry, we
no longer accept gold, silver-filled or base metal scrap. Scrap metal is processed 1-2 days from
receipt. All metals are weighed in troy ounces.
We offer 80% of the daily silver spot price for unsoldered silver for trade, on the day the scrap is processed. For scrap
jewelry or soldered pieces, we offer 60% of the daily silver spot price for trade. For fine silver coins and bars, we offer 90% for trade
For gold-filled scrap, we offer 1.45% of the daily gold spot price for. For example, at a $900 gold market, ($900 x 0.0145 = $13.05) gold-filled
scrap would be worth $13.05 per ounce.
Due to the current volatility of precious metal prices, Thunderbird is no longer accepting scrap for cash.
For trade, a credit will be applied to your Thunderbird account for a future purchase. When placing an order where the scrap credit will be used,
let your salesperson know so the credit will be applied.
Bring in your scrap to one of our 3 store locations or mail your scrap metal to the address below. Please include:
- Name
- Customer Number (if you have one)
- Address
- Telephone
Please be sure to include this information so proper credit will be given to the
proper account.
