A Successful Start: Our First Beading for Beginners Class in Gallup
We're excited to celebrate the success of our very first Beading for Beginners class, held at our Gallup store! The workshop welcomed new and aspiring beaders for an afternoon of creativity, hands-on learning, and fun as participants learned the fundamentals of beadwork while creating their own beaded keychains.
The class was led by Payton Yazzie and Laci Betom from Thunderbird Supply's Graphics and Marketing Department. Together, they guided students through each step of the beading process, demonstrating basic techniques, answering questions, and providing one-on-one assistance to ensure everyone felt comfortable and confident. Whether participants were picking up a beading needle for the first time or looking to sharpen their skills, each student left with a completed keychain and a newfound appreciation for the art of beadwork.
Behind the scenes, the event was made possible through the teamwork and preparation of Payton and Laci, along with Rona Yazzie, Graphics and Marketing Manager, and Mya Becenti. Together, they assembled project kits, organized supplies, and prepared the classroom so that every participant had everything they needed to enjoy the workshop from start to finish
We were thrilled to welcome 11 students to this inaugural class. Throughout the afternoon, the room was filled with creativity, conversation, and encouragement as participants worked on their projects, shared ideas, and celebrated one another's progress. Seeing everyone complete their beaded keychains and leave with both a finished project and new skills made the event especially rewarding.
